Due to Covid-19 we have to open in a slightly different way. Because of the layout and location of our site, to ensure the best possible safety and protection from Covid-19 for the monkeys, visitors, and our team, we will be offering pre-booked guided tours for groups of 12 people. The tour will take around 1 hour walking around the monkey enclosures, talking about the history of the sanctuary, the species of monkeys that we care for, the UK primate pet trade, and the general running of the sanctuary.
Once the tour has finished, you can wander in our Wildlife Gardens and enjoy the sea views with light refreshments available for purchase from our small gift shop. Due to our restrictions in place, and trying to keep the number of people in any one place down, you will not have access back up to the monkeys once the tour is over.
Please note: The wearing of face masks is mandatory for the tour around the monkeys and in indoor spaces. (Medical and children under the age of 11 exemptions apply).
Accessibility
Due to the natural setting of the site and the listed status of the main Sanctuary house, we regret that we are not able to provide full access to all areas of the site to visitors with limited mobility and wheelchair users. The tours do have wheelchair access, however, due to our steep, sloping and sometimes small paths, our site is not suitable for all wheelchairs
Please call us 01503 262532 if you would like more details about accessibility before booking your visit.
Entry is half price for disabled visitors and free for carer.
Dogs and assistance dogs:
Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs (including assistance dogs) into the main Monkey Sanctuary site. Please contact us in advance of your visit to make alternative arrangements in regards to assistance dogs, on 01503 262 532.
Please note – The Monkey Sanctuary is an outdoor venue.
Places are really limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
